Family Dentistry
At Summit Dental, we care for everyone and every family!
Whether you’re nine or ninety, our mission is to help you keep a healthy, beautiful smile!
Children’s Dentistry
At Summit Dental Arts, we hope to educate our youngest patients on good oral hygiene habits to last them a lifetime! It’s important to keep baby teeth healthy to provide chewing ability during childhood, and to help a child learn to speak. Baby teeth also guide the permanent teeth into their correct positions.
Periodontal Disease
Periodontal disease, or gum disease, is a bacterial infection of the gums, bone and periodontal ligament (attachment fibers that support the teeth and hold them in the jaw.) Periodontal disease is usually painless and silent until its advanced stages. It is important to closely monitor periodontal disease at regular hygiene visits, which is why we may recommend that our patients with periodontal disease have more than two visits a year.
Dentures
A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and the surrounding support tissues. At Summit Dental Arts we make complete and partial dentures for patients who need their first set, and also for patients who have existing dentures and need new ones. We also offer options of overdentures, zest anchors, and implant supported dentures to improve the stability of our patients’ dentures.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal therapy refers to the treatment of the inner aspects of a tooth, specifically the pulp tissue (the nerve and blood supply for the tooth). An infection inside your tooth that reaches the root and its nerves can be painful, and a root canal is needed. Sometimes there may be no apparent cause, only that a tooth hurts.

Preventive Dentistry
Preventive
Dentistry
Summit Dental Arts aims to help keep your teeth and gums healthy by offering Hygiene Services, Dental Sealants, Digital X-rays, Fluoride Treatment and Oral Cancer Screening. We recommend making an appointment for these services twice per year!
Preventive Dentistry
Hygiene Services
Dental hygiene, also known as oral hygiene, is a large part of preventative dental care. At the core of dental hygiene is your home care routine, including brushing and flossing your teeth. While you are responsible for day-to-day dental maintenance, your dental hygienist along with your dentists, play an integral role in preventative oral care. For more information, please visit: tooth decay prevention, mouth rinses, proper flossing techniques
Dental Sealants
Dental sealants can play an important role in helping to prevent tooth decay (“cavities”) in some locations on teeth. Bonding a sealant into the grooves of teeth creates a smoother surface that can be cleaned better, so there is less of a chance that tooth decay will form. Sealants are usually also flouride releasing.
Xylitol
Xylitol is a white crystalline substance that looks and tastes like sugar. It eliminates harmful oral bacteria (the ones that can damage teeth and gums) and also prevents them from sticking to teeth. Most bacteria cannot use it and will therefore not be able to make the acids or biofilm that can attack teeth. For more information, please visit: www.zellies.com, www.xlear.com, xylitol, management of decay with xylitol
Digital X-Rays
At Summit Dental, we use Digital X-rays to provide exceptional dental care and accurate diagnoses. We use both bitewing X-rays which show decay between teeth, and Panoramic X-rays which give an overview of your entire mouth.
Fluoride Treatment
Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that is found in many foods and water. Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from bacteria in the mouth. Fluoride also helps reverse early decay by remineralizing already erupted teeth of both children and adults. For more information, please visit: flouride, flouride and varnish treatment
Oral Cancer Screening
At Summit Dental Arts, oral cancer screening is a routine part of our dental examination. Regular hygiene visits, including a visual examination of your entire mouth and tongue, are essential in the early detection of cancerous and precancerous conditions. We also utilize a screening tool, VELscope. This blue light illuminates healthy and abnormal tissues in the oral cavity differently, allowing us to see small tissue changes.

Cosmetic Dentistry
Cosmetic
Dentistry
At Summit Dental Arts, we provide a variety of cosmetic dental treatments including Veneers, Crowns, Tooth Whitening, Bonding, and Orthodontics, to repair, restore, brighten or straighten your smile!
Cosmetic Dentistry
A smile can be the most eye catching feature of your face.
Advances in dental materials and techniques offer new ways to repair and restore damaged teeth and gums and cosmetically enhance the tooth structure that Mother Nature gave you.
At Summit Dental Arts we can brighten teeth that have lost their sparkle, cover problem teeth with thin porcelain veneers, repair cracks and gaps with tooth colored material, restore a tooth for strength or enhanced appearance, and straighten your teeth with braces. Cosmetic options span a wide variety of improvements to your smile.
Veneers
Think of this treatment as a manicure for your smile! At Summit Dental Arts, we can change the shape, color and length of your teeth with porcelain veneers. Veneers are thin, custom-made shells of tooth colored material that cover the front surface of a tooth.
Crowns
A crown is a type of dental restoration that fully covers the portion of a tooth that lies at and above the gum line. Crowns can be made out of porcelain, metal, or a combination of the two and are also referred to as “dental caps.”
Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening, or bleaching, brightens teeth that are discolored, stained, or darkened due to age, eating habits or previous trauma. At Summit Dental Arts we take impressions of your teeth and make a tray specifically for you to use with bleaching gel to whiten at home.
Bonding
Bonding is a one-appointment procedure that enables your dentist to close spaces between your teeth, repair chipped or worn teeth, lengthen small or misshapen teeth, or whiten stained or darkened teeth. Once in place, bonded restorations are very strong and can improve the appearance of your teeth, resulting in a beautiful, natural looking smile! A single tooth can be shaped and colored, or your entire smile can be changed!

Dental Implants
Dental
Implants
Dental Implants may be the tooth replacement solution for you, whether you are missing a single tooth or a complete arch, modern implants are reliably designed to address your specific needs while bringing back your confidence, prevent bone loss, and let you enjoy the foods you love!
Dental Implants
Are missing teeth causing you to miss out on life?
Missing teeth and loose dentures make too many people sit on the sidelines and let life pass them by. However, today’s modern treatment plans can replace everything from a single missing tooth to a completely missing arch. Don’t let another day go by without taking this important first step to restoring your confidence and your smile!
Losing one or more of your teeth starts a chain of events that can have dire physical and cosmetic consequences. The most obvious result is a gap in your smile. Less obvious is the loss of chewing function and the inability to eat a complete diet that can result from tooth loss. While these are certainly serious issues, a potentially bigger problem lies hidden beneath the surface: bone loss.
Tooth Replacement Options
Modern dental implants are precision devices, available in several different designs to address your specific needs. An implant may be used to replace almost any missing tooth, provided there is adequate bone at the site. If not, modern procedures can usually be performed to regenerate enough bone to safely place an implant.
Implants can also be used to replace several teeth, eliminating the need to grind down healthy adjacent teeth to serve as posts for traditional Crown & Bridge therapy. Once the crown is in place, you may not be able to tell it apart from your natural teeth.
Am I A Candidate?
Every patient is different and many times there is more than one option available to treat your problem. That’s why we offer free consultations so you can learn about all your choices before you make a decision.

Orthodontics
At Summit Dental Arts, we provide several different orthodontic options to help straighten your smile, for both children and adults!
Orthodontics
Get the perfect smile!
Orthodontics is a part of dentistry that focuses on the correction resulting from the misalignment of teeth and improving smiles. Although we often think of braces on teens and pre-teens, many adults are now having orthodontic treatment to improve their smile. We can straighten or rotate teeth, close spaces and improve the way you bite with orthodontic treatment.
At Summit Dental Arts we can evaluate your needs and sometimes that treatment can be completed in 6 months or less (ask about our “LightSpeedSmiles” program). It is not uncommon to treat only your top teeth, or your bottom teeth, depending on your needs.
We also offer Invisalign, a series of clear retainers used to move your teeth without conventional braces.

- Bed Wetting
- Chronic Ear/Sinus infections
- Mouth breathing/Snoring
- Swollen tonsils/Adenoids
- Restless Sleep

- Chronic Allergies
Dentistry is becoming involved because many of these children present with poorly developed jaws that lead to crowded and crooked teeth. There are several options for treatment, including Myobrace (myobrace.com link). This multi-factorial treatment is used to correct bad oral habits with appliances and myofunctional therapy, to help patients breathe through their nose and improve the alignment of teeth.
